With the Matterhorn in the background, you will hike in the heart of the Swiss Alps, along the Italian border.

Day 1 : Rendez-vous at 10 a.m. at Taesch, at the departure station to Zermatt.
You will meet your guide, he will check your clothing and gear and split daily lunches.
From Zermatt, we ride the Klein Matterhorn lift to the middle station of Trockernersted and walk to Testa Grigia hut (3 480 m) where we spend the night.
Day 2 : Ascent of the Breithorn (4 160 m).
From the summit, we continue down to Val d’Ayas hut (3 420 m).
Day 3 : We climb up to Castor (4 228 m) and continue across to the Felikjoch (4 061 m).
Descend to Quintino Sella hut (3 585 m) where we spend the night.
Day 4 : Ascent to Passo del Naso (4 100 m).
Then and depending on participants physical condition:
- we either descend to Montova hut (3 520 m) or Gnifetti hut (3 647 m),
- or walk up to Col de Lys (4 248 m) and spend the night at Margherita hut (4 569 m), the highest hut in Europe !
Day 5 : Depending on the previous day, we either walk up to Col de Lys (4 248 m) from Montova hut and climb Margherita peak (4 569 m);
or, from Margherita hut, we will climb the Zumsteinspitz (4 563 m).
Descend to Monte-Rosa hut (2 795 m).
Day 6 : We hike across the Gornergletscher and take the Gornergrat funicular to go back to Zermatt.
The guide may have to adapt the route to weather conditions and/or to group physical and technical ability.
PHYSICAL SHAPE 



In excellent shape: Can daily hike and/or climb vertical gain ranging from 900 to 1000 meters, 6 to 10 hours per day, at high or very high altitude (4000 m and above). Must be able to keep a good rhythm between up and down sections. Physical training is essential. For very strong and active people, who practice and train regularly, and with experience in strenuous multiday hiking trips, with night in mountain huts.
TECHNICAL ABILITY 




Solid mountaineering experience: For people with an extensive mountaineering experience, knowledgeable in the use of crampons on long steep slopes (40° to 45°), rope-handling and all other mountaineering techniques in mixed alpine terrain.
GUIDING POLICY
Minimum 2 and maximum 3 persons per guide.
In terms of group size, the Compagnie des Guides de Chamonix's guiding policy is one of the strictest in the mountain guiding industry.
ACCOMODATION
5 nights in dormitory, in catered mountain huts.
MEALS
Picnic for lunch and dinner in mountain huts.
Water is not provided in the hut. Bring some cash (Euros and Swiss francs) for your drinks.

You can rent mountaineering boots, crampons, ice axe, harness and helmet (see booking form).
DOCUMENTATION
ID or valid passport.
Having a repatriation insurance is mandatory. Cancellation insurance is highly recommended.
We provide optional insurance contracts for repatriation and trip cancellation (see booking form).

From Sunday, June 17 th to Friday, June 22 nd, 2012.
From Sunday, July 15 th to Friday, July 20 th, 2012.
From Sunday, August, 5 th to Friday, August 10 th, 2012.
MEETING
Rendez-vous at 10 a.m. at Taesch, at the departure station to Zermatt.
The trek ends in Zermatt, on Friday, in the early afternoon.
PRICE :
1 650 euros per person, based on a minimum of 2 persons
1 330 euros per person, based on a minimum of 3 persons
Including :
- 6 days mountain guiding services,
- 5 nights in mountain hut with dinner and breakfast,
- daily lunches,

Not included :
