Day 1: Hike up to Charpoua hut - 6h
Meet your guide and the rest of the group at 8h am at the Compagnie des guides’ office to check equipment, pack lunch, and get ready to go.  We ride the Montenvers cog train up until Mer de Glace (6300ft) 1913m. From there we hike down to set foot on the glacier and make our way to the 100 year-old Charpoua hut. We follow the secured trail with ladders and hand-rails. We finally reach the hut at 2841 m (9 3780ft), happy to meet the cheerful and welcoming hut keeper!

Day 2: Charpoua to Leschaux- 6h
We leave the hut early and use a traversing route to get around the base of Aiguille du Moine peak, until we reach a saddle just above the Couvercle hut. After enjoying lunch with a breath-taking view of Grandes Jorassses, we follow the trail to Leschaux hut: this very quiet and remote hut is known to be a crystal seeker’s favorite !

Day 3: Hike back to Montenvers - 5h
After an early morning breakfast, we walk down a series of ladders to set foot onto Leschaux glacier before reaching Mer de Glace again.  We ride the Montenvers train back down and arrive in Chamonix around 4 pm.

The guide might have to change the itinerary to suit the weather conditions or the group level and fitness.
