Throughout our stay we ski in a magnificent setting (Mamolada, Tofane, Fanes, …) to end in beauty by the Tre Cime tour. In the evening to relax, we take full advantage of the warmth and welcoming “made in Dolomites” huts.
(Since June 26th 2009, Dolomites have been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO)
Day 1: Departure at 6AM from Chamonix in a minivan to reach the San Pellegrino pass or meet directly there. Depending on our time of arrival, a short ski tour to stretch our legs and make our first turns in the Dolomites massif.
We spend the night in the Albergo Flora Alpina hut (2054m).
Day 2: We leave on skins in the direction of the Pian to the Valfredda hamlet (1908m).
Then, bellow the Sasso di va Fredda summit (3009m), we start the ascent of the Forca Rossa (2486m). From the pass, a magnificient descent to Malga Ciapela (1446m) to reach the foot of the cable car which will take you almost to the summit of the Marmolada (3259m), emblematic glacial summit of the Dolomites! The view is amazing. We will take a few minutes to visit the “museum of war” before undertaking a beautiful descent to Lago di Fedaia (2053m). Dinner and overnight are spent at the E Castiglioni hotel.
Elevation gain: 750m / Negative difference in altitude: 2240m / 6 hours of walking.

Day 3: We start the day by skinning up to Porta Vescovo (2478m). We have a magnificent view on our descent of the Marmolada the previous day. Some nice turns to take a chairlift which allows us to reach the Passo Pordoï (2239m) where we take the lift up to Pordoï (2950m), the opening door to the incredible Dolomitique de Stella massif! We walk in the middle of the limestone reliefs, short descent followed by a small climb up tp the level of the Boe hut (2871m) before starting the fabulous descent of the Mesdi valley similar to Grand Canyon! We are in the Alta Badia.
From Corvara (1550m), we transfer by taxi to the Falzarego pass (2105m) where a last cable car takes us to the Lagazuoi (2752m) where we spend the night.
Elevation gain: 500m / Negative difference in altitude: 1800m / 6 hours of walking.

Day 4: Today we discover the Tofanes massif. It is just west to Cortina d’Ampezzo, the capital of the Dolomites! We start the day with a descent to reach the foot of the couloir that brings us to Forcella di Lech (2486m). Sometimes, depending on the conditions we have to go on foot with the skis on our bag (however, if they are not ideal we descend to the refuge of Scotoni – 1985m), to finally reach the Locia pass (2069m). We make a large and beautiful crossing towards the Alpe Fanes Grande (2100m), then the Limo pass (2174m) to reach by a short descent the Fanes or Lavarela huts (2050m), We spend the night and dinner in a hut.
Elevation gain: 500m / Negative difference in altitude: 950m / 6 hours of walking.

Day 5: Today we leave with light bags for a roundtrip summit. If the conditions and the group level are good, we climb the Sasso delle Dieci (3026m). We reach the summit by foot by an aerial ridge, equipped with a cable.
We return to the hut for a short break before going through the Limo pass (2174m) for the descent of the di Fanes pass in the Cortina d’Ampezzo direction.
Transfer to Lago di Antorno. Dinner and night in the inn at the foot of Tre Cime!

Day 6: Departure on the snowy road that takes us to the Auronzo hut (2320m). We advance on the south side of Tre Cime to the Lavaredo pass (2454m). The scenery is spectacular! We continue our journey at the foot of the north face of Tre Cime where the view is impressive and we end the tour by going through the Medo pass (2324m) before starting the descent across the Auronzo hut and continue on the Lago di Antorno (1880m).
We take time to enjoy this splendid day which ends with a return by taxi on the Passo San Pellegrino for a last night in the Dolomites massif.

Day 7: Depending on the conditions and motivation of the group, last outing in the sector of the San Pellegrino pass. Return to Chamonix in the evening.
This program is a general guideline for the trip. The guide alone can decide and apply changes in the program during the trip, according to weather and terrain conditions, skiers physical condition and skills.
Organization :The previous day, the head-guide will contact by to answer your questions, and provide complementary information (i.e. touring gear, clothing, specific equipment etc.)
Guiding policy :
The group is composed of 5 to 6 skiers maximum per guide.
The Compagnie des Guides de Chamonix's guiding policy is one of the strictest in the mountain guiding industry.
Lodging : In catered mountain huts, nights in dormitories.
Meeting : 6 a.m. at the Compagnie des Guides in Chamonix
(Participants may leave personal belongings in our office until group returns).
The tour ends in Chamonix.
Winter 2017 tour price : 1 270€ per person (5 skiers minimum).
