Reaching the summit of a symbolical 4000-meter peak is a mountaineer’s dream of a life-time. We have designed a specially adapted training course to prepare your body to altitude and a successful ascent. After spending 2 days of practice above the Chamonix valley, we will guide you to the Monterosa range and its Italian summit, namely Pyramid Vincent at 4215 m (13,900ft).

Day 1 Albert 1er mountain hut + 600 m (1,980ft)
We start from the village of Le Tour and ride the gondola up to Col de Balme, then hike the well-marked trail to Albert 1er hut. This newly renovated hut offers a great panoramic view at sunset. We spend a comfortable night at the hut. (2706m/ 8,930ft)
Day 2 Ascent of Tête Blanche/ Petite Fourch +715 m (2,360ft) -1320 m 4,356ft)
After an early start, we set foot on the Tour glacier and make our way towards Col Blanc, a large glacier plateau between the peaks of Tête Blanche and Petite Fourche. Soon after we reach the summit of Tête Blanche at 3421m (11,290ft), from where we can enjoy an amazing view of the surrounding alpine setting. Then we hike back down to the lifts and ride down to the village of Le Tour. Night in Chamonix in a partner hotel (B&B)
Day 3 Gnifetti Mountain hut + 372 m (1,228ft)
We leave Chamonix early in the morning and drive to Italy and the alpine resort of Gressoney - Staffal. We ride the Staffal lift to reach the base of Monterosa range. A one-hour glacier hike leads to the hut and the resort limit of Alagna. Night at Gnifetti hut (3647m/12,035ft)
Day 4 Ascent to Pyramide Vincent +568 m (1,875ft) - 1250 m (4,125ft)
We leave the hut and hike up Lys glacier to reach the eponymous pass at 4151m (13,700ft). From there the view over the famous Swiss alpine town of Zermatt is stunning. Then we climb to the peak of Pyramide Vincent (4215m /13,909ft). The guide will suggest a secondary ascent to Pointe Zumstein, depending on the level of the group. This ascent takes place in incredible high alpine setting of the Monterosa range! Our way back down follows the same route. Later on we transfer back to Chamonix.
The guide might have to change the itinerary to suit the weather conditions or the group level and fitness.
In great shape: Can daily hike and/or climb vertical gain ranging from 900 to 1300 meters, 6 to 8 hours. A sustained hiking pace is necessary to be able to complete daily sections. Physical training is recommended. The hiking section includes great vertical gain/loss, at high altitude. Training stamina and body resistance is a perfect way to prepare for this trip.
Approach to glacier hiking: For first timers who wish to learn basic glacier hiking techniques (hiking with crampons, roping up, elementary knots etc.)
Minimum 3 and maximum 5 people per guide.
In terms of group size, the Compagnie des Guides de Chamonix's guiding policy is one of the strictest in the mountain guiding industry.
Nights in dormitory: 2 nights in catered mountain huts and 1 night in Chamonix in hotel Best-Mont-Blanc.
Picnic for lunch, dinner & breakfast in mountain huts or inns.
Dinner of the day 2 in Chamonix is not included.
Water is not provided in the hut. Bring some cash (Euros) for your drinks.
You can rent mountaineering boots, crampons, ice axe, harness and helmet (see booking form).
ID or valid passport.
Having a repatriation insurance is mandatory. Cancellation insurance is highly recommended.
We provide optional insurance contracts for repatriation and trip cancellation (see booking form).

Departures the 4th & 18th of July and the 1st, 15th & 29th of August.
Rendez-vous at 1.30pm at the Compagnie des Guides’ office, 190 place de l’Eglise, in Chamonix.
You’ll be back in Chamonix in the afternoon on Friday.
PRICE : 850 euros per person, based on 3 people minimum
