Indeed, the terrain offers an immense snowshoeing potential in the neighbouring ranges of Bornes and Aravis. Join us to discover the incredible alpine plateau des Glières, the beautiful mountain ridges above Annecy Lake, the Aravis alpine bowls leading to Pointe Percée, and many other favourite winter hiking destinations in the area.

Day 1 : LA MONTAGNE DES AUGES
Located just above the famous French resistance hide out Plateau des Glières, Montagne des Auges offers the perfect terrain to prepare our legs for the week’s hikes. Today’s snowshoe loop is absolutely amazing and offers many points of interest.
+/- 1 410ft

Day 2 : MONTAGNE DE SOUS-DINE
This area is known for being one of the largest reproduction areas for spruce grouse (petit Tétras) in Europe. In October and November, mountain goats (chamois) meet to reproduce… The tranquillity of the site is known to wildlife, and an exceptional place for curious hikers to visit in winter. In addition to the variety of snowshoeing options, it provides a superb look out point to admire the bordering Rochois region.
+/- 2 950ft

Day 3 : LE COL DES NANTETS
With its fresh-snow covered vegetation, Col des Nantets forms a doorway into another world. It allows hikers to transit from the north facing Montremont alpine valley to the sunny landscape that opens up towards Annecy Lake just below. To the North East, the Tournette Mountain (7 760ft) displays an amazingly contrasting view.
+/- 2 290ft

Day 4 : LE REFUGE DE GRAMUSSET
We are at the foot of Pointe Percée (9 800ft), the highest peak in the Aravis range. Todays 'beautiful snowshoe circuit resembles a guided visit of the Aravis alpine bowls. From the hamlet of Les Confins (4 720ft), we gradually gain altitude and leave the forest. Alpine valleys successively reveal themselves between the imposing peaks of the Aravis range.
+/- 3 210ft

Day 5 : LA MONTAGNE DE SULENS
Located above the traditional Manigod alpine valley, and at the southern tip of the Bornes range, this area offers a perfect view of Pointe des Aravis, and the nearby Mont Charvin (7 950ft) and the Tournette Mountain (7 640ft).
+/- 2 720ft
