This is the start of a gradual and splendid climb to Col du Bonhomme. We hike across the preserved natural area of Les Contamines-Montjoie and its beautiful alpine setting. We gradually gain altitude, leaving behind trees and isolated farms, replaced by alpine meadows, rocks and cliffs, as we get closer to Col du Bonhomme.
