Located in the Saleinaz alpine basin, the secluded Envers des Dorées hut is not catered and seldom visited. Join us for a 2-day mountaineering trip and discover a fabulous glacier environment praised by all enthusiast mountaineers.
Day 1: Equipment check-up and level assessment.
From the top of Grands Montets, we start our ski trip on the Rognon Glacier before skiing down to Argentière glacier. Aiguille Verte, the Droites, the Chardonnet needle and many more legendary peaks of the Argentière alpine basin stand high around us. First we ski tour up to Col du Chardonnet (10 950ft). After a somewhat delicate section down the other side of the pass, we start making our way down the Saleinaz glacier. Then a short uphill ski touring section takes us to Envers des Dorées hut (9 840ft). It is time to light up the hut wood stove and prepare our meal for the evening (the more we eat, the lighter our packs will be tomorrow!). We enjoy a peaceful atmosphere in a quiet non catered hut, away from the beaten tracks.
Vertical gain: 1 000 m / Vertical loss: 1 400 m
Day 2: Col des Plines to the village of Le Tour or Trient
After an early start we ski around Aiguilles Dorées and reach the top of the mountain pass. From Col des Plines (10 725ft) we ski across Trient glacier. We can choose between two route options: col du Tour or col du Pissoir. A superb run takes us down to the village of Le Tour or Trient. Vertical gain: 400 m / Vertical loss: 1 800 m
