Are you an avid skier in search of virgin snow in a remarkable setting? You are sure to fulfil your fantasies by joining our 2018 Chilean ski tour. This trip is exceptional and holds discovery and promise for the fortunate few who choose to come along next autumn.
If you, like me (your guide), wish that the ski season could last all year, join me in September for the dream destination of Chile and experience the wonders South America.
Discover a country which combines superlatives: a planetary microcosm, a magical mix of volcanoes, some still fuming yet covered in snow and superb contrasts in an untamed wilderness – all come together to create the setting of this trip.
Our “challenges” include climbing volcanoes and skiing among sumptuous panoramas, relaxing in superb natural hot springs, tasting Chilean gastronomic specialties and sipping exceptional local wines.
The trip itinerary is planned around ten volcanoes situated in six different valleys, stretching from north to south in the regions of Araucania and northern Patagonia. Depending on actual conditions and in order to climb a maximum number of summits, we will explore the southern area by car, either on the Chilean front or on the Argentinean side (San Martin de los Andes, Bariloche)
Accommodation is in local inns or hostels, generally very comfortable but sometimes quite simple due to their isolated locations. Extending the trip for another day with an overnight in an art deco hotel overlooking the bay of Valparaiso Is possible. This trip is also appropriate for a non-skiing friend or spouse both for the interesting sites we visit and for the comfort provided in our lodging.
