Light and sound show in Chamonix

August 14th at the Gaillands climbing crag

Since 1999, the Guides Festival has seen a wind of renewal thanks to young guides and new energies. Yet it remains a traditional celebration.

Guides are dressed in their official outfit to honor the religious blessing of ropes and ice-axes in front of the Chamonix church.

Moreover, there are many emotionally intense moments, such as the official call for the guides’ register, the joining of new members, the celebration of an honored departed guide, or the best client medal award.
